2) Erik Sink claims the one key thing to know about negotiation is that you
are able to walk away from the deal.
Negotiating from a position of real need is a bad, bad situation.
... Some of these situations are unfortunate and unavoidable.
But in any negotiation, your best investment is to figure out a way to
get by if the deal falls through.
